MASS CASUALTY minor

A.  Minor mass casualty "Code White" disaster declared
1.  Decision made by ED MD in collaboration with ED nurese and/or Nursing Supervisor.  Decision made by ED MD in collaboration with ED nurse and /or Nsg Supv EMS crew on the scene; Inform the IC of the status.
Incident Commander:
a. Indentifies Incident
b. Determins the size of the incident
c. Develops Strategy & tactics
d.  Designs Command struture
e. Delegates & assigns command roles / functions
f. Identifies Goals
g. Implements an Action Plan
h.  Notifies telephone switchboard operator that a disaster exists/type disaster, so that announcements can be made.

B.  Code White Minor disaster announced
1. As directed by IC or ED MD.

C.  MDs Called in
1.  On call physicians called and /or others as directed by ED MD. 

D.  On call teams called 
1.  Nsg supv calls Anesthesia and/or X-ray.

E. Disaster Call List MINOR is called
1. Departments call in specialized people upon hearing Code White minor or departments will start own call lists upon hearing "Code White".  

F. O.R. set-up
1.  Nsg Supv or ED MD will convey what kind of surgery yo preperate for.
2.  PACU nureses called in as necessary.

G.  Place Critically Injured in Rooms 1, 2 & 3
1. Under direction of ED nurse.

PATIENT IDENTIFICATION

H.  Place minor injuries in waiting room & tream them in Rooms 4 & 5.
1. Families will wait in the front lobby and admitting area.

I. Triage Physician Assigned
1. ED MD may designate self or antother, prefererably a regurlayl scheduele ED MD.

J. Triage Teams assigned (1 MD and 1 RN for each Pt if possible)
1. MDs will be assigned as they arrive.
2. 2 RNs from M/S will go to ED.
3. Float will go to ED
4. Nsg Supv will call in nurses PRN.

K. Triage Teams Rx criticallly injured
1.  Other MDs will treat non-urgently injured pts and ED pts.
